34' Blue water capable, traditional wooden cutter located in York, Maine

OHNESORGE was designed by Bud McIntosh and built 1980 by Jeff Fogman who learned his trade from Bud. Carvel cedar planked over white oak frames, lead keel, fastened with copper rivets and bronze bolts. Varnished mahogany trunk cabin and deck trim. Fiberglassed plywood cabin roof. Decks rebuilt in 2010 and varnished mast replaced in 2009 by Paul Rollins.
Vetus 25hp 3cyl 2003, fresh water cooled diesel engine. Good condition with only 287 hrs.
Surveyed in 2008, this boat is in very good condition and ready for the water. A real Blue Water cruiser!

Construction
Carvel cedar planked over white oak fastened with copper rivets and bronze bolts. Steam bent 1 ½" x 1 ½" oak frames on 14" centers, oak floor timbers, Oak keel, backbone and deadwood. Deck is white pine. Cockpit is self-bailing, 7' long with a 2' wide bridge deck and a 2'x5'foot well. Varnished mahogany trunk cabins. Fiber glassed plywood cabin roof. Mahogany deck trim. Fiberglass cockpit foot well. Tiller steering on outboard rudder. 5,500 lbs. of external lead ballast. White hull, blue bottom with an almond deck. Decks rebuilt in 2010 and mast replaced in 2009 by Paul Rollins.


Engine
Vetus 25 hp. 3cyl 2003, fresh water cooled diesel engine. Bowdin cable engine controls. Engine is reported to be in good condition with 287 hours. 15x9 propeller with a 1” stainless steel shaft. Cruising speed 6 knots.

Tanks

17 gallon Monel fuel tank, three water tanks with 50 gallon capacity. Plastic holding tank.







Electrical
12V electrical system, alternator, two batteries with condition indicator, circuit breaker electrical panel, 120V shore power, master switch and engine to external zinc grounding.


Accommodations
Sleeps 5 in one single and two double berths. One head. Stainless steel galley sink and two burner gimbaled, Flavel LPG stove with oven. Stainless steel ice box. The yacht's interior is finished with bright pine and mahogany with a teak and holly sole. OHNESORGE is ventilated with three ports and two hatches with screens.




Sails and Rigging
Cutter rig. Serviceable, original suit of Beirig sails.  2007 Jasper & Bailey light yankee jib with torque rope luff on furler.  Stainless steel standing rigging with bronze turnbuckles. Mast stepped on the keel.  Height from the water line 46".  Boom gallows aft of cockpit. Two Merriman halyard winches and two Merriman sheet winches. Halyards and sheets are Dacron.

Ground Tackle
35 lb. CQR anchor, two bow rollers, 5/16 – 150’ anchor chain, ¾ nylon 150’ anchor rode. Windlass is a manual Lunenburg chain and line.




Equipment
2 fire extinguishers, bell, horn, six life preservers, one horseshoe ring, dock lines, boathook, three fenders, spreader light, boarding ladder, sail cover, stainless steel double lifelines, cockpit awning, new dodger in 2010, berth cushions, cooking utensils and winter cover.

Compass, VHF and brass binnacle.
